THE LATEST ANNOUNCEMENTS ABOUT DEEP OCEAN

DEEP OCEAN ENGINEERING, INC. INTRODUCES NEW PHANTOM X8
JULY 2019, SAN JOSE, CA

Deep Ocean Engineering Inc. (DOE) is proud to announce the addition of a new type of Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) to their already diverse and impressive product line, the Phantom® X8.

This electric, light work-class, vehicle is the largest and most heavy-duty ROV manufactured by DOE and packs a robust design for deep sea maneuverability and power.  Configured with six vectored horizontal and two vertical 2.2 kW Tecnadyne brushless thrusters, the Phantom® X8 has complete control and authority in any given direction, even in the toughest currents.

For clarity underwater, the Phantom® X8 boasts high definition (1080p) front (+/-90°) (pan optional) and rear (low light) cameras with 3 LED lights emitting 30,000 total Lumens with adjustable brightness controlled by the pilot control box or GUI.  Auto functions for heading, altitude, depth, and positioning guide and control the ROV for diligent underwater tasks and inspections.

Deep Ocean Engineering designed the Phantom® X8 with deep sea exploration and light intervention in mind. Its performance at depths up to 1,000 meters is adaptable for various underwater tasks in any condition. Applications for the X8 include pipeline inspection/routing, offshore wind farm maintenance, infrastructure repair, survey research and many more.

DEEP OCEAN ENGINEERING, INC. ANNOUNCES PHANTOM FLYIMAGER
MARCH 2016, SAN JOSE, CA

Deep Ocean Engineering, Inc. announced at the Oceanology International 2016 event in London that they are introducing its newest underwater vehicle, the Phantom® FlyImager.

This revolutionary underwater drone is a hybrid system, co-developed with EdgeTech, that allows the user to utilize a sophisticated side scan sonar system, the EdgeTech 4125, combined with the functionality of the powerful, versatile and rugged Phantom® T5 ROV underwater drone.

What makes this new system unique is that the side scan sonar system can be pulled behind a powered surface vessel as a towfish while scanning using "wings" that provide stability and constant depth control. This side scan system provides long range acoustic imaging in the water column to find targets. Once the target is identified, the "wings" are retracted and the underwater drone is converted from a towfish to a free flying ROV for close up optical imaging of the target.

The Phantom® FlyImager hybrid drone is designed to be converted to an ROV from a side scan system and take immediate action based on real-time data retrieved and analyzed from the side scan sonar. This utilizes a single deployed vessel, thereby eliminating the need to deploy a passive side scan sonar unit and separate ROV.
